Matching Grants General Questions

When does the money for Matching Funds reset?
Community Charity & Scholarships matching funds both run on the fiscal year of April 1st to March 31st each year. Meaning your lodge’s $1500 for each program is available in full April 1st of each year to be used until March 31st. The funds do not carry over if unused.

Where and how can I submit my lodge’s matching funds forms?
All matching funds forms can be submitted to the  Department: via email at matchingfunds@mmcfonline.org, or
by mail to 1204 Wright Ave. Alma, MI 48801.

How do I know if my lodge has used any matching funds and what we have left?
Please contact the Foundation office and we would be glad to help. 1-800-321-9357 or matchingfunds@mmcfonline.org

How long does it take for our matching funds request to be processed?
Upon receiving your completed paperwork a staff member will contact your lodge secretary (typically by email if available) and let them know that it’s been received and when to expect the check to be cut. It is usually about a 1 week turn around once received.

It has been more than 2 weeks since I submitted our lodge’s request what do I do?

Scholarships Matching Grants

I’m a high school senior/college undergraduate how do I apply for scholarships?
You must reach out to a local lodge. They determine who receives the scholarships and then if they choose they reach out to us for their yearly matching portion. For help finding a local lodge please call the Foundation at  1-800-321-9357.

How do I get a scholarship form?
You can access the form through this website under the programs tab, scholarships, and click to be directed to the secretary’s portal on the Grand Lodge website. They are accessed there because all matching funds must be endorsed by a Michigan lodge. Or it can be emailed/mailed to you by contacting Outreach and Member Care at 1-800-321-9357 or matchingfunds@mmcfonline.org

I’m a Mason. Can my lodge provide me a Matching Funds Scholarship?
Matching funds scholarships are intended for non-Mason high school seniors/college undergraduates. We do have a program called Educational Assistance for Master Masons that you should look into for scholarship assistance.

Where do I find the Community Charity forms?
It is found on this website under the programs and then community charity tab. Click the download button. Or it can be emailed/mailed to you by contacting the office at 1-800-321-9357 or matchingfunds@mmcfonline.org

Can our lodge use our Community Charities donations to give to our local boy scouts, girl scouts, etc?
Yes, you just can’t use matching funds for the nationwide organization it must be going to a local (Michigan) based group.
